The Brief…
Google on the Beach was an incredibly important milestone for First Call, representing the largest project we had been involved with since forming the company. We were tasked with building a bespoke site for YouTube on the beach in Cannes.
What we did…
Working in the hot summer sun presented challenges of its own. This immense five-day build covered a huge 900 square metres and the holiday themed environment was constructed from steel and wooden structures with steel anchors embedded into the famous Cannes sand.   We started the job, working at Stage One in York, where we built all the elements, ready for transportation to France. On arrival they were craned onto the beach where our technicians were on hand to build the site.
Working across departments, our talented technicians and carpenters were recognised by the client and other companies on site for their professionalism and hard work in the demanding conditions.    Â
Despite the melting heat, we delivered the build, which has since led to Google asking us to be involved in other key projects.
What the client says about us…
“This was by far the biggest and hardest project we have delivered on the beach over the last few years and the heat didn’t help matters with record temperatures of 30+ degrees! The guys’ attitude and commitment to get the project done on time through the heat, problems and just sheer size of it was amazing! Also noted not just by us but by other companies on site was how professional and helpful they were with other departments which was very nice feedback from our clients.” Dan Bell, Stage One
